Pre-Test Instructions
For accurate results, please follow these pre-test instructions:
- Overnight fasting is preferred.
- Discontinue Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling, with prior consent from your treating physician.
- A duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory.
Sample Collection
The sample required for this test is 3 mL of whole blood collected in a Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube. It is essential to mix the sample thoroughly by inversion and transport it to the lab within 4 hours. If transport within this time frame is not possible, please follow the instructions to prepare Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP) and freeze it immediately for shipment.
