Pre-Test Instructions
For optimal results, please follow these pre-test instructions:
- Overnight fasting is preferred.
- Discontinue Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling (with prior consent from your physician).
- A duly filled Coagulation Requisition Form (Form 15) is mandatory.
Sample Type
The sample required for this test is:
- 3 mL whole blood in 1 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube. Mix thoroughly by inversion. Transport to Lab within 4 hours.
- If transport is delayed, make PPP within 1 hour of collection by centrifuging the sample at 3600 rpm for 15 minutes and transferring the supernatant to a clean plastic tube. Centrifuge again and transfer the final supernatant (PPP) to a labeled clean plastic screw-capped vial. FREEZE IMMEDIATELY and ship frozen. DO NOT THAW.
Turnaround Time
