Pre-Test Instructions
Before taking the Cadmium Blood Test, please follow these instructions:
- Avoid eating seafood for at least 3 days prior to specimen collection.
- If you have received Gadolinium or Iodine containing contrast media, do not collect the specimen for 96 hours.
- Use powderless gloves during specimen collection.
Sample Type
The test requires a sample of 4 mL (2 mL minimum) of whole blood collected in a metal-free Royal Blue Top (K2EDTA) tube. Samples should be shipped refrigerated and must not be frozen.
