Pre-Test Instructions
For optimal results, please adhere to the following pre-test instructions:
- Overnight fasting is preferred.
- Discontinue Heparin for 1 day and Oral Anticoagulants for 7 days prior to sampling (with prior consent from your physician).
- Ensure that all necessary requisition forms (Form 17 and Form 15) are filled out and submitted.
Sample Type and Transport
The sample required for this test includes:
- 5 mL (3 mL min.) whole blood in 2 Green Top (Sodium Heparin) tubes from both partners.
- 3 mL whole blood in 1 Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube.
- 4 mL (3 mL min.) serum from 2 SST’s.
Samples must be shipped refrigerated and reach the lab within 24 hours. Please do not freeze samples.
