Sample Collection Instructions
No special preparation is required for this test. Acceptable sample types include:
- 1-2 mL of preferably first morning sputum, induced sputum, bronchial lavage, aspirate, brushings, endotracheal secretions, gastric lavage.
- 2-5 mL of body fluids like pleural fluid, ascitic fluid, peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, synovial fluid, semen, CSF, and ocular fluid in a sterile screw-capped container.
- 2-5 gm of fresh tissue biopsy, lymph node, endometrium in normal saline.
- 5-10 mL of first morning urine in a sterile screw-capped container.
Samples should be shipped refrigerated and must not be frozen. Whole blood samples are not acceptable.
